So You Think You Can Dance
review by Zach B.
Running Time: 109 Minutes
Specs: 1.78:1 Widescreen,
English Dolby Stereo
Released: July 21st, 2009
This work out program is presented in 1.78:1 widescreen.
Clearly, you're not watching this for a visual presentation. But the
important thing is that you can see the trainers and dancers and all
the moves so you can follow along, and this DVD does that justice.
Otherwise, colors are well saturdated, detail is okay and fleshtones
look fine. There is a bit of noise, though. Again, you're not watching
this for the workouts.
The English Stereo track is perfectly fine: all the instructions
from the instructors come out clear and crisply, while the music is
loud so you'll be able to hear. This workout DVD really didn't need a
5.1 mix or anything — everything here is audible and balanced, so
you'll be able to follow along with ease.
Interviews with Lauren, Travis and Courtney might motivate you further.
This is a clever spin-off of the popular dance program, and one that
makes sense. You may not be a better dancer from this, but you'll have
fun burning calories. The DVD looks and sounds fine for what it is, and
the interviews are nice but small touch. Fans of the show looking to
lose some weight may want to check this one out.
