Presented in 1.33:1 full screen, as it did back in the day, this opener to the fourth season of "Perry Mason" looks pretty good. A little artifacting is present, as is slight shimmering and noise at times. Grain is also out in full force. Other than that though, the episodes look surprisingly sharp and the black-and-white cinematography pretty rich. Imperfections are abound, but pleasing overall. Offered are English Mono tracks. The tracks are very clean: I did not detect any hisses, pops or any kind of audio defects. Fidelity is good, and dialogue is very clear. The show's instrumental music cues also sound rather nice, and the sound effects — while limited — sound solid too. For what these tracks are, this is pleasing stuff. English closed captions are available through your television.
Fans of Perry Mason will certainly want to look into the fourth season, as the episodes look and sound rather nice considering their age. Still no extras, and the retail is a bit steep, but you do get a decent amount of content.
