This brand new "It's Always Sunny In Philadelphia" special is presented in 1080p High Definition, in a widescreen presentation with the theatrical aspect ratio of 1.78:1. This is a very solid presentation. Fleshtones are spot-on, detail is excellent and color saturation is rich and bold — especially all the Christmas colors that tend to highlight this elongated episode. Black levels are deep and crisp too. Sharp and very pleasing to the eye, overall.

A DTS-HD Master Audio 5.1 track is also featured on this Blu-ray release. All the dialogue is firm, centered and crystal clear — which makes up for a lot of this release. Surround effects are pretty strong and enveloping too, especially when the gang gets into mischief — including an encounter with Santa Claus himself. Music also has a nice presence, and subwoofer use is decent but nothing special. Given this is episodic television comedy, this track is pretty satisfying.

Subtitles in English, Spanish and French are included as well.

There are Deleted Scenes featuring young Mac and young Charlie, which I am sure fans will enjoy. A Making Of Featurette will also whet the appetite of fans, as the actors discuss this special. And what would a holiday special be without a Sing-A-Long

The price is a little steep, but fans of the cult hit "It's Always Sunny In Philadelphia" will definitely want to own this special. Extras are a bit on the slim side but fun, while the presentation is pretty good for what this kind of production is. Happy Holidays, Sunny fans!
