Not perfect, but the fourth season of "Happy Days" is a marked improvement over the shoddy video quality of the third season on DVD. The show, in 1.33:1 full screen, looks rather bright and sharp, with minimal grain. Fleshtones look accurate, and color saturation is bright, bold and full. Detail is pretty good, and the only real flaws are some dirt pieces, noise and shimmering - which are not as intrusive as the last season.A huge improvement compared to last season, and I couldn't be more pleased.

The English Mono tracks are still pretty good. Dialogue is very clear and easy to hear, sound effects are audible and the music also comes in well. The only thing that sounds a bit hollow on these episodes is the laugh track, which isn't that big of a deal. Fidelity is decent, and everything sounds clear - I did not detect audio defects or distortions. In all, what's here is pleasing.

English closed captions via television sets are also included.

The only extra, which is debatable since it's an "episode" that aired, is the Happy Days 3rd Anniversary Show. It's a good, clean clip show and nothing more.

It's good to have Richie and the gang back on DVD for a fourth season. Still nothing really in way of supplements, but the episodes sound good and look a whole lot better than the third season. I hope "Happy Days" picks up the pace in sales - it'd be nice to get more than one season set a year.
