All the material here is presented in 1.33:1 full screen. Some of the video quality varies. For example, the archived "weed" short from decades ago is not in good shape, but when it comes to the program's actual series (i.e. "Reno 911!", "The Root Of All Evil") - there is a decent consistency to be had. Detail is adaquete, fleshtones look pretty accurate and color saturation is pretty good too. However, these programs do feature a lot of edge halos and noise. In all, the programs look a little bit above average at best. But I'm sure no one's going into this DVD for visual splendor. (And those under the influence won't even notice.)

All the programming here is in English Stereo. Everything's pretty straightforward: all the talking on the shows is clear and easy to hear, music cues come in fine and in some cases, audience cues (i.e. cheers and laughter from "Root Of All Evil" and "Chapelle's Show"). Some of the shows also have some decent stereo effects when it comes to the sound effects, like in "Reno 911!" Nothing grand or cinematic, but the stereo tracks do their jobs here.

English closed captions through your TV are also included.

Nothing. But the again, you get a variety of content...

"Comedy Central's Home Grown" is intent on appealing to the channel's stoner demographic, and while some of the content is more geared to those viewers, this is still a strong collection for any comedy fan - not to mention a good way to sample some of their beloved programs (and maybe convince you to plunk down cash for those season sets on DVD). So if you don't own most of the Comedy Central DVD library already or want to experience some of their famed titles, this collection is recommended.
