Flying High In The Sky
Vanilla
Sky,
Cameron Crowe and Tom Crusie's latest, got off to a nice
start at the box office. An English language remake of the
1997 Spanish thriller "Open Your Eyes," and despite some
mixed critic reviews, I guess audiences can't resist Tom...
or perhaps want to see the chemistry with him and that other
Cruz. Making a nice 25 million, it should be all smiles all
around for Paramount.
In second,
Ocean's
Eleven dropped a spot, but still took in a
nice 22 million. Not Another Teen Movie
opened with
a decent 12.6, while Harry Potter and the Sorcerer's Stone
is still
going strong with 9.9 million.
Monsters INC.
continued
to fall with 4.9 million while Spy Game took in 2.4. Black Knight continued to phone with 2
million, while Shallow Hal made 1.4. Rounding it out, the
foreign hit Amelie with $773, 164.
Next week... the
Christmas movie season heats up majorly! Let the battle
begin...
