The "Stone" Starts to Fall, Site News

Harry Potter and the Sorcerer's Stone finished in first again, this time with a meager take of 23.6 million. By no means is that bad, it's pretty great, but it won't beat Titanic's 600 million record as many predicted. I guess there isn't much repeat audience for the film, and as a lot of the hype has really died down.

In a somewhat close second was the patriotic themed Behind Enemy Lines with 18.7 million. A pretty strong opening despite mediocre critic reviews. It was pushed up from January 2002 to cash in on the state America is in now. In third was Spy Game with 11 million and Monsters, Inc. with 9.1 million. Black Knight dropped to fifth with a below average take of 5.5 million.

Sixth place saw Shallow Hal with 4.5 and then Out Cold with 2.7. Domestic Disturbance took in 1.9, the foreign hit Amelie (and Miramax's Oscar® push this year for Foreign Film) broke the top ten with 1.3 and Heist scored 1.1 million.

As some of you may have noticed, not all the new site designs are complete yet (I've been too busy lately). My apologies about that, but I gurantee everything will be up and ready to roll a little before the end of the month. So take a look around... some of the pages have new looks and designs to them and refined information, while I completley redid the videogame section (look for that to grow even more this month!). Also, the new review page has been complete with new graphics courtesy of DVDlaunch's site designer, Chuck. I won't be going back to redo all the pages, but from here on in, they'll have the new format. Also look for the new staff roster to debut at the end of the month now.

And that's about it. So, keep coming back for new reviews, new designs and the like as DVDlaunch 2.0 actually finally nears completion!
