Strong "Sugar"
With a slew of new
releases this weekend, it's unfortuante to say that most of
them didn't fare well over the weekend, not to mention most
of them scored negative reviews (Swept Away is a sure fire Razzie winner, hell,
it bombed in its limited release too!). In number one again
was Red
Dragon,
with a rather large dip with 17.6 million. In second was
Sweet Home
Alabama
with 14.2 million, followed by the strongest release of all
the newcomers: Brown Sugar with 10.7 million.
Everything else was
down hill. The delayed action flick The
Transporter
scored 9.1 million over the weekend, while My Big Fat Greek
Wedding is
still bringing them in with 8.4 million. The Tuxedo took in 7 million, while
White
Oleander flopped 5.6 million. Tuck
Everlasting
won't last too long with 5.2 million, all while the Vin
Diesel cash-in Knockaround Guys and Barbershop each took in 5 and 4
million.
