"Home" Run, $5 Off "The Scorpion King"
still...
Despite the
mediocre reviews (I certainly thought it was "meh"),
Sweet Home
Alabama's
record breaking box office intake of 35.6 million is
certainly enough to show people want romantic comedies and
that Reese Whiterspoon is a star. This should be a big hit
for Disney this fall, and is definently a typical
crowdpleaser. In a somewhat distant second was the delayed
Jackie Chan and Jennifer Love Hewitt action flick
The
Tuxedo,
settling in with a decent 15 million. Barbershop brought in another 10
million while My Big Fat Greek
Wedding
took in another 9.4 million. Yowza wowza!
The Banger
Sisters
took in another 5.4 million which is pretty disappointing,
while The
Four Feathers seems to be a pretty epic bomb, only
tallying in 3.5 million this week. One Hour Photo brought in another 3
million, while Ballistic: Ecks Vs.
Sever,
Signs and Swimfan each respectively added on 2.7, 2.3
and 1.5 million to their totals.
So are any of you
planning to pick up "The Scorpion King" on DVD this week?
Then you might find this
coupon from
our friends at Electric Artists some help. There, you can
print a very nifty five dollar off coupon for the DVD, valid
at any offline store you happen to go to pick it up. Please
note this page will only be up until October 5th, and that
the last day you can use the coupon is October 6th.
Definently a very nice deal, and a special thanks to
Electric Artists again.
And next week...
will Hannibal take a bite out of the box office? We shall
see.
