Pie Not Dying
For the third week in a row, American Pie 2
dominated the box office with 12.5 million. In second was
Rush Hour 2 with 11.5 million, while Kevin Smith's
fifth film in his New Jersey trilogy, Jay and Silent Bob
Strike Back debuted to a very decent opening of 11
million. I hope it has legs...
The Others and Rat Race held strong with
8.5 and 8.1 million respectively, while Summer Catch
debuted with 7 million. The Princess Diaries brought
in 6.6 million, while Captain Corelli's Mandolin,
Ghosts Of Mars and Planet Of The Apes raked in
4 million, 3.8 and 3.5 each.
And so, the summer movie season comes to a close next
week, with the highly controversial and delayed teen drama
O finally being released. Plus, this Saturday... our
one year anniversary! Yay!
