S'more Pie Sir...
It's been a good summer for Universal, as they now have
bragging right that American Pie 2 is the only other
film (the other film being "Pearl Harbor") this summer to be
number one more than a single weekend. This week, the Pie
dropped but made 21.1 million at the box office. Not bad at
all, and is sure to outgross the original by next weekend.
In second was Rush Hour 2 with 19 million, while
in third was newcomer Rat Race with 11.7. I hope word
of mouth spreads good on that one, it's a truly hilarious
film that I reccomend film fans to check out.
The Others held on with 10.9 while the sleeper hit
The Princess Diaries made 9.6 million. The delayed
Captain Corelli's Mandolin bombed with 7.2 million,
with Planet Of The Apes trailing it with 7.1 million.
Newcomer American Outlaws was critically bashed and
made 4.9 million while Jurassic Park III made 4.4 and
Legally Blonde stayed on with 2.6.
Next week... Jay and Silent Bob Strike Back into
theaters!
