Good as "Gold"
No surprise here,
right? In first place was one of the summer's most
anticipated sequels/films, that being the third instalment
in the popular comedy series, Austin Powers in
Goldmember.
I saw the film and enjoyed it, but I say the second one is
tops in my book. Nonetheless, New Line couldn't care my
thoughts, seeing how the movie took in a whopping and
recordbreaking 73.1 million. It'll probably make around or
more than "The Spy Who Shagged Me."
In a very distant
second was Road To Perdition with 11.1 million, while
Stuart
Little 2
held somewhat steady with 10.6 million. Men In Black
II brought
in another 8.3 million, while K-19: The Widowmaker is one hell of a dud with a
mere 7.3 million. Disney's latest, the the twenty million
The Country
Bears
didn't do so hot with 5.3 million, but the movie was cheap
to produce. Mr. Deeds also brought in another 4.2
million.
Reign Of
Fire took
in 3.5, while Minority Report appeared back in the top
ten with 3.1. And still going strong and going great after
15 weeks in release is My Big Fat Greek
Wedding,
the indie smash of 2002. Cracking tenth, it brought in a
nice 3 mil at a mere 569 theaters.
Next week...
prepare to see some "Signs"...
