Dino-mite!
A monstrous and record breaking weekend at the box office
as Jurassic Park III took the top spot with an
amazing 50.7 million dollars, bringing it's total a bit over
81 million. Heh, it's made more in five days then
A.I. over four weeks (which dropped out of the top
ten this week). A good and bad summer for Spielberg, eh? He
didn't direct JPIII, but he did executive produce it. I
expect the film to die quickly.
In second was America's Sweethearts with 30.1
million, a pretty impressive opening for a romantic comedy.
In third was Legally Blonde with 11.1 million, in
fourth was The Score with 10.7 million and in fifth
was Cats & Dogs with 6.8 million.
The Fast And The Furious racked up 5.3 million
while Scary Movie 2 continues to be a bit of a
disappointment with only 4.5 million. Rounding out the top
ten: Dr. Dolittle 2 with 4.4 million, Final
Fantasy: The Spirits Within (what a bomb) with 3.6
million and Kiss Of The Dragon with 2.9 million.
Next week... back to a planet inhabited by apes...
