Still dark at the top...

Not surprisingly, Men In Black II remained at number one for the weekend with a strong 24.4 million, making it tally up to over 130 million. In second was the critically praised second feature from Sam Mendes, the 1930s father-son mob drama Road To Perdition, close behind with 22.1 million. Interestingly enough, "Road" was in half the theaters as "MiB2," so the good buzz and counterprogramming paid off with a strong opening.

Third place was another new entry, the future dragon thriller Reign Of Fire with 15.6 million. Halloween: Resurrection did surprisingly well with an opening take of 12.3 million, while Mr. Deeds slipped to fifth with 10.8 million. By next weekend, Adam Sandler's latest will have crossed 100 million.

The Crocodile Hunter: Collisoon Course had a decent opening with 9.5 million, while Lilo & Stitch took in another 8 million. Like Mike brought in 7 more million, followed by Minority Report and The Bourne Identity, with 7.2 and 5.8 million respectively.

Next weekend... will mice rule? Stay tuned...
