The Sum Of All Fears
The Sum Of All
Episode 2's fears? Knocking the "Star Wars" sequel out of
first place, The Sum Of All Fears, the latest entry in the
Jack Ryan film franchise with Ben Affleck as a younger Ryan,
bowed in first place with an impressive 31.2 million. The
film will be a nice smash for Paramount probably, but it
seems that Star Wars Episode II: Attack Of The
Clones,
which went down a spot with 21 million, won't be the year's
biggest grossing film. The film has made 232 million so far,
which is amazing, but I have a feeling it will have trouble
passing 300 million, and that is pretty disappointing and
surprising for a "Star Wars" flick. I guess fan reaction has
been a bit harsh...
In third and still
sticking is Spider-Man with a great 14.3 million. In a few
days it will be the fifth top grossing film of all time. New
this week is Undercover Brother with a strong start with 12
million, and in fifth was Dreamworks' animated
Spirit:
Stallion Of The Cimarron with 11.3 million.
Insomnia went down a bit witgh 9.9 million, as
well as Enough and About A Boy, each with 6.8 and 4.1 million.
Rounding out the top ten was Unfaithful with 2.9 million and The New Guy with 1.4 million.
Next week... Chris
Rock and Anthony Hopkins in "Bad Company" and "The Divine
Secrets of The Ya-Ya Sisterhood." Here come the big June
releases...
