Weekend Box Office, New Special Edition Reviews
In a sort of surprising weekend box office, Bridget
Jones's Diary took first place with 10.1 million, going
from third to first. The film was also first in the U.K., so
it's no doubt that good reviews and good word of mouth
helped the film. It edged out Spy Kids by a little
sum, "Spy Kids" continued to rake in the cash with 10.0
million, and will easily pass the 100 million mark within
the next two weeks... or maybe even next weekend.
In third was Along Came A Spider with 8.7 million,
which is holding very strong. Fourth and fifth saw two
movies with terrible reviews. The third entry in the series,
Crocodile Dundee In Los Angeles grossed 7.7 million,
while Freddy Got Fingered only made 7.0 million. I
expected "Freddy" to be first actually and with a lot more,
considering how many teenagers out there love Green's
antics. Heh, I haven't read reviews like the ones for
"Freddy Got Fingered" since "Battlefield Earth".
Sixth saw Blow with 5.9 and seventh had Joe
Dirt with 5.3. Rounding out the top ten were Kingdom
Come with 4.2, Josie and the Pussycats continuing
to bomb with 2.9 and Enemy At The Gates with 2.0
million.
As far as new reviews, be sure to check out the new
Rocky
Boxed Set (the review by yours truly as well as the
seperate review of the
Rocky
Special Edition), as well as for the new
Tora!
Tora! Tora! special edition. Have a good week everyone!
