"Changing" Into First "Lanes"
A pretty good
weekend at the box office, where newcomer drama
Changing
Lanes
opened in first place with a strong showing of 17.5 million.
I saw this film over the weekend and loved it. It's
definantly worth checking out... it's not a thriller, but
rather, a really strong, deep and character driven drama. I
think this is one of the best films of 2002.
In second,
Panic
Room
dropped down with 11.3 million, while panned romanic comedy
The Sweetest
Thing
opened in third with ten million. Ice Age brought in another 8.7 million
followed by The Rookie with another 8.1 million.
Last week's second
place victor High Crimes dropped to sixth with 8 million, and
the pre-teen romp Clockstoppers brought in another 4.7
million. Bill Paxton's directorial debut, Frailty, bombed with 4.2, tying with
National
Lampoon's Van Wilder. And in last place we have
Blade
II.
