Resurrection
Thanks to the
Easter holiday weekend, The Passion Of The Christ
jolted back to the top spot at the box office with a
strong 15.2 million. Taking a big slide was Hellboy
which dropped a spot and made 10.8 million over the
weekend. In a surprise third was the comedy Johnson
Family Vacation with 9.4 million, but flopping in fourth
was Disney's delayed The Alamo bringing in a pitiful
9.1 million.
Walking Tall
came in fifth 8.4 million and the animated Home On
The Range held its own with 8.1 million. Another
family-geared film, Scooby-Doo 2: Monsters Unleashed
took in another 8 million and seems quite likely now
that it won't even reach 100 million.
Roudning out the
top ten were three news releases that were dead on arrival:
the panned sequel The Whole Ten Yards with 6.6
million, the family fairy tale romance Ella Enchanted
with 6.1 million and finally, the teen comedy The
Girl Next Door with 6 million.
Next week, The
Bride is back. Need I say more, DVD fans?
