No "Panic"
Nothing to "Panic"
about for Sony executives - David Fincher's latest,
Panic
Room opened
to an impressive 30 million dollars, breaking Easter records
with it. Ice
Age was
next, dropping down a little on the gross side with 18.1
million. The critically praised The Rookie opened with a strong 16 million,
while Blade
II dropped
making 13 million and then newcomer Clockstoppers with 10 million.
Poor
E.T. continues to bomb on his re-release,
only taking in 6.1 more. But it could be worse as
Death To
Smoochy was
bashed by critics and only took in a miserable 4.2 million.
A Beautiful
Mind held
steady with 3.8 million, while We Were Soldiers and Showtimes rounded out the top ten
with 3.7 and 3.5 million each.
