Hot as "Ice"
A continuing trend
at the box office, it seems 2-D animated films can flop but
the age of computer animation is strong. The latest CGI
flick, Ice
Age grossed
a tremendous 46.3 million in its opening weekend. A lot of
kids and postive reviews don't hurt, either. In second place
was Resident
Evil. Based
on the popular videogame series (which I do happen to
enjoy), it opened with a strong 17.7. The new action comedy,
Showtime got a decent start at third with 15
million, while fourth and fifth place belonged to
The Time
Machine
with 10.7 and We Were Soldiers with 8.4.
All About The
Benjamins
grossed in another 4.9 while 40 Days and 40 Nights made 4.3 million more.
John
Q. took in
another 3.6, A Beautiful Mind another 3.3 and in last
place, Return To Never Land with 2.2.
Enjoy the Oscars,
everyone!
