"We Were" First
Taking the top spot
this past weekend was the new Mel Gibson vietnam drama
We Were
Soliders
with a solid take of 20.2 million. Perhaps this could be
Randall Wallace's saving grace after "Pearl Harbor." In
second place another new film, 40 Days and 40 Nights with a decent 12.2 million.
John
Q. still
continues to play well with 8.5 million, while
Return To
Never Land
is still hanging with 6.8. Dragonfly took a somewhat substantial dive
raking in only 6.6 for fifth place.
Taking a whopping
60% dive was last week's number one film, The Queen Of The
Damned.
This week it only brought in 5.9 million... perhaps all of
Aaliyah's fans and Anne Rice's fans already went to see it?
Big Fat
Liar took
in 4.9 more, while A Beautiful Mind, Crossroads
and
The Lord Of
The Rings: The Fellowship Of The Ring rounded out the top ten
with 4.6, 4.0 and 3.3 million each, respectively.
