Weekend Box Office
The Mexican devoured (pardon the joke)
Hannibal at the box office this weekend, coming in
first with 20.3 million. In second was See Spot Run
with 10.2, just edging out "Hannibal" which had 10.1. "Spot"
wasn't loved by critics, but it's the only family movie out
on the market now (besides "Recess"), which is my guess that
it scored a decent opening. Down To Earth held strong
at fourth with eight million, and in fifth was Crouching
Tiger, Hidden Dragon once again with 4.9 million, and is
on track to break 100 million. In sixth was Traffic
with 4.5, and in seventh was Chocolat with 4.2.
Recess: School's Out took a plunge at eight with 3.9
million, while 3000 Miles To Graceland took a bigger
dive with 3.1. And rounding this week off at ten is the
remake Sweet November with 2.5.
Not much new in news today, as I'm stuck inside due to a
bad Winter snow storm. I've added a review of
Almost
Famous, a pretty anticipated disc (and a great movie too
boot). It's a very nice disc, but be on the look out for a
special edition later this year.
