Thirds, anyone?
Hannibal was one for the third straight weekend,
dropping off a little with 15.8 million. Down To
Earth remained strong with 11.2, followed by the
critically bashed 3000 Miles To Graceland with 7.2
(another crappy Costner movie, no doubt). Recess:
School's Out dropped one from last week and earned a
respectable 6.9, followed by Crouching Tiger, Hidden
Dragon with 6.6 for fifth. In Six, Traffic got
boosed to over eighty million with 5.1, having a tie with
Sweet November. Chocolat cooked up 4.8, and
The Wedding Planner made 4.0 million for ninth.
Lastly, Cast Away is about to be casted out of the
top ten range, with 3.1 million. And in 11th, was newcomer
Monkeybone with 2.7 million dollars. I heard the
movie cost 75 million to make, so it seems this is the first
big dud of the year. I guess Fox thought it was a good time
to open up... it obviously wasn't. "Monkeybone" has been
pushed back an awful lot, as some of you may know.
