A "Damned" Good First

This past weekend's box office was pretty decent, starting with the late Aaliyah's final role in the next film based on Anne Rice's immensly popular "Vampire Chronicles," that being The Queen Of The Damned. Taking in 14.7 million, it easily beat out last week's winner John Q. which took in 12.4 million over this past weekend. In third was Kevin Costner's latest (and costly) flick Dragonfly brining in a so-so 10.2 million. Fourth and fifth belonged to Return To Never Land and Crossroads, each with respectable takes of 8.9 million and 7 million.

Big Fat Liar took sixth place with 6.3 million, while A Beautiful Mind brought in 5.3 million more. Rounding out this week was Hart's War with 4.4 million (a dud for sure), Super Troopers with 3.9 million and Collateral Damage taking a bigger dive with 3.8 million.

Oh yeah, today's my Dad's birthday. So uh, Happy Birthday to him!
