"A Walk To" Third
As January closes
up shop and as Oscar® hopefuls have continued expanding,
the new films are starting to roll out into cinemas. But in
first again and holding strongly is the great war drama
Black Hawk
Down with
17 million. In second and also still doing well is
Snow
Dogs with
13 million. The newcomer teen tragedy/drama A Walk To
Remember
opened in third place despite poor reviews. It made a decent
12.1 million. Fourth place went to A Beautiful Mind with 11.5 million, and in
fifth was the often delayed The Count Of Monte
Cristo with
11.3 million. Not bad at all.
Another newcomer,
The Mothman
Prophecies,
took in 11 million. Going into wide release, I Am Sam brought in a rather
impressive 8.3 million, while the juggernaut known
The Lord Of
The Rings: The Fellowship Of The Ring dropped a little more, but
still brought in 7.8 million. Somehow, newcomer comedy (and
not screened for the critics) Kung Pow: Enter The
Fist made 7
million (!) while Orange County took a big drop down the
list, raking in only 4.4 million.
