Weekend Box Office, New Reviews
Well it was a very good weekend at the box office, with
Cast Away once again holding the number one spot with
24.1 million, making its grand total to a nice 143.5
million. In second, What Women Want made 15.5 million
with a total of 137.8 million. The critically acclaimed
drama (and Oscar® contender) Traffic opened wide
on Friday and came in third with a very respectable 14.9
million. Miss Congeniality held strong at four with
13.8, and The Family Man was in fifth 9.2. The
Emperor's New Groove continues to hold with 7.4 followed
by Veritcal Limit with five million. Rounding out the
top ten is Dracula 2000 with 4.3 million, Dude,
Where's My Car? with 3.8 and the fantastic (I keep
raving about this movie, check the archives) Crouching
Tiger, Hidden Dragon with 3.3 million. Every week it
gets wider, so keep checking your paper to see when it's
opening up near you.
As far as new reviews go, Anthony is back with reviews of
the new cut of
The
Exorcist and the old
Dr.
Dolittle. I check out the indie film (and one you
shouldn't miss)
Chuck
& Buck, while David looks at
Brainstorm.
Look for even more reviews this weekend!
