Still The "Lord"
Though it's slipped
a tiny bit as far as gross, The Lord Of The Rings: The Fellowship
Of The Ring
raked in 23 million. Right behind it was A Beautiful
Mind doing
quite well in its first weekend in wide release with a cool
16.5 million, making it pass the almighty 200 million mark.
Behind was Ocean's Eleven grossing half it's title...
11 million. HAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHA I MADE A FUNNY! In fourth was
Jimmy
Neutron: Boy Genius and in fifth, also in its first
weekend of wide release, was my favorite movie of 2001
(maybe I'm somewhat biased since "Rushmore" is my favorite
film of all time), The Royal Tenenbaums with an impressive 8.5
million... incredibly strong for 751 theaters.
In sixth was
Vanilla
Sky with
7.1 million, followed by Ali with 7 million and then
Kate &
Leopold
with 6.1. Harry Potter and the Sorcerer's
Stone
brought in 5.9 million making it cross the awesome 300
million mark, while Monsters Inc. was last with 3.9. Newcomer
Imposter opened out of the top ten with only 3
million, after being moved to last Friday from Christmas
Day. That was probably a mistake...
