More "Lord"
Ah, the first
update of the new year! Still, it might seem like we're
talking about last year as there is nothing stopping
The Lord Of
The Rings: The Two Towers. Now passing 260 million, the film
took in another solid 25 million over the weekend. Also
doing strong and on the verge of passing 100 million,
Catch Me If
You Can
stole another 21 million. Two Weeks Notice and Maid In
Manhattan
stayed neck and neck with each other, delivering 11.1 and
8.6 more million to their totals.
After many award
wins and nods as well as critical kudos, About Schmidt
took in a
solid 8.5 million during its first weekend of wide release.
Gangs Of New
York
brought in 7.3 million more, while The Wild Thornberrys
Movie has
been holding its own with a weekend take of 5.5
million.
Rounding out the
top ten for the weekend was Drumline with 5.3 million (should pass 50
million by next weekend), Chicago with 4.9 million (which is slowly
expanding - it's definitely a wonderful movie that's going
to be big come awards nights and when it opens wide) and
finally, Harry Potter And The Chamber Of
Secrets
with 4.6 million.
